Jakarta, January 8, 2025 – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency of the Republic of Indonesia received a courtesy visit from representatives of the Forum Silaturahmi Keraton Nusantara (FSKN) on January 8, 2025, in the Meeting Room, 12th Floor, Sapta Pesona Building, Jakarta.

The visit and discussion were welcomed by the Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, accompanied by Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar. Also present at the event were Deputy for Cultural Creativity and Design, Yuke Sri Rahayu; Deputy for Strategic Development of the Creative Economy, Cecep Rukendi; and Secretary of the Ministry/Principal Secretary, Dessy Ruhati.
Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky stated that this meeting was intended as a platform for discussions on governance and creative economy assets in Indonesia, particularly in the cultural sector. Preserving traditions while generating economic value will create a unique cultural identity that enhances creative products in the global market.
"The creative economy is a single breath that opens opportunities and brings positive impacts to local culture, in line with the definition of the Creative Economy under Law No. 24 of 2019. The creative economy is the embodiment of added value derived from intellectual property, based on human creativity rooted in cultural heritage, science, and/or technology," said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky.

In his speech, Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky also introduced 17 sub-sectors of the creative economy, including game development, crafts, interior design, music, fine arts, product design, fashion, culinary arts, film, animation, video, photography, visual communication design, television and radio, architecture, advertising, performing arts, publishing, and applications.
"The potential for digitalization in the creative economy sector can also be seen from the increasing number of digital content creators who promote and help raise awareness of local culture. Moving forward, these content creators plan to establish an association," he added.
Meanwhile, FSKN proposed a collaboration program, including the production of educational documentary films lasting 15-30 minutes. Additionally, the forum requested support and attention for creative economy products while opening doors for cultural and tourism initiatives aimed at strengthening local traditions.

"In Bulukumba, there is a customary leader who enforces a rule that if a resident cuts down one tree, they must plant ten in return. Without trees, the water ecosystem will be damaged. We plan to produce a documentary illustrating how indigenous communities treat water," said one of the FSKN representatives.
"Indonesia's rich cultural heritage and talented individuals are the main assets for developing the creative economy as a new engine of growth—one that is inclusive, competitive, and sustainable—aligned with Asta Cita towards Golden Indonesia 2045," concluded Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky.
